The Borough of Wilmerding shall appoint a Fire Protection Consultant,
with expertise in handling of hazardous waste, to act on behalf of
the Borough of Wilmerding and to prescribe and issue permits for the
same. Said consultant shall prescribe and issue all forms necessary
for the administration of fire prevention ordinances of the Borough
of Wilmerding and construction code ordinances of the Borough of Wilmerding;
may enforce said regulations relating to any matter pertaining to
the administration of said ordinances and codes, including, but not
limited to, the review of locations and issuance of permits under
said ordinances and codes.
The Consultant shall be appointed by motion and serve at the
pleasure of Council at a fee based upon an hourly rate as determined
between the parties.
Said Consultant shall be given all the responsibilities of the
Fire Chief, as so defined in said prior ordinances, here and referred
to. Said Consultant shall henceforth have all the powers and duties
of the Fire Chief as they pertain to the issuance of permits and enforcement
of regulations dealing with hazardous waste, its storage, handling
and transmission through the Borough of Wilmerding.
