The definitions set forth in Section 1 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (Title 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 102) shall apply when the words and terms defined therein are used in this article.

The no-parking zones established by this article shall be posted by official signs erected in accordance with the regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
It shall be unlawful for the driver or operator of any vehicle to park the same along any area of the road hereby designated "no-parking zones."

A. 
Any person violating any provision of this article is guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $50.
B. 
Assessments for violations as an alternative to the statutory penalties. The procedure for issuance of said assessments shall be as follows:
(1) 
The Township of Perkiomen Code Enforcement Officer shall serve upon any person who violates a provision of this chapter a notice indicating the violation. The notice shall contain instructions to the responsible person to pay an assessment in the amount indicated in the Township of Perkiomen Fee Schedule. If the responsible person pays the sum indicated within eight business days of the issuance of the assessment, the person responsible for the violation shall not be prosecuted under Subsection B(2) below.
(2) 
In the event that the person responsible for the violation fails to pay the assessment in a timely manner, he or she is guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $50.
