Town of Hartford, NY Article III All-Terrain Vehicles

§ 130-7 Designation of Town roads lawful for travel.

A. The Town of Hartford hereby designates that the following portions of roads may be lawfully traveled and traversed by ATVs to access designated trails, provided that the portions are posted:

	Dick Hill Road
	Gibbs Road
	Hartford Main Street
	Warren Road

B. The Town of Hartford hereby designates that the full length of the following roads may be lawfully traveled and traversed by ATVs to access designated trails, provided the roads are posted:

	Burch Road
	Halls Pond Road
	Hastings Road
	Rowe Hill Road
	Washburn Hill Road
	Wright Road

C. Anyone using the designated roads shall follow all New York State Department of Motor Vehicles vehicle and traffic laws.

D. All designated roads shall be signed in compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

E. All signs and markers shall be erected at the expense of the municipality; provided, however, that the municipality may accept funds or contributions therefor from private persons, clubs or associations interested in the promotion of ATVs.

§ 130-8 Regulations.

The Hartford Town Board shall promulgate regulations to effect this article.

§ 130-9 Posting of roads.

Such roads, or portions thereof, may only be utilized once they are posted, as provided in the regulations which the Town Board shall promulgate to effect this article. Until such roads, or portions thereof, are posted, they may not be traversed by ATVs pursuant to this article.
