The Mayor, with the approval of the Board of Aldermen, shall
appoint some suitable person as Chief of the Fire Department. Every
able-bodied citizen of the City of Appleton City, Missouri, who shall
volunteer his/her services shall be considered a member of the Appleton
City Volunteer Fire Department and the work at any fire shall be under
the direction and control of the Fire Chief, or the Mayor.
