No mechanical contractor or any person desiring to do any mechanical work shall commence until a permit has been issued by the Community Development Department.
No permit shall be required for minor mechanical repairs involving no construction, erection, or alteration including the use of portable heating, cooling or ventilation equipment, or direct replacement of any component or minor part that does not alter the listing or approval of the equipment.
The City shall have the power to cause the interruption or termination of mechanical service to any premises when the mechanical services thereof, upon inspection, are found to be in an unsafe condition or which has been installed contrary to or in violation of the City's adopted mechanical code or any other provisions of this Chapter.

The fees for the permits required in this Article shall be as established in the City's Comprehensive Schedule of Fees.[1]
