No hunting with guns or other firearms or firing of guns or other firearms shall be permitted in that portion of the City of Absecon City bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center line of Shore Road where the same is intersected by the dividing line between the City of Absecon City and the Township of Galloway and running thence southeasterly along said dividing line, a distance of 1,350 feet more or less to an angle point in said dividing line; thence southeasterly continuing along said dividing line, a distance of 1,200 feet more or less; thence southwesterly, parallel with and 1,380 feet southeasterly when measured at right angles thereto from Fourth Avenue, a distance of 4,350 feet more or less to the center of Absecon Creek; thence northwesterly along the center line of Absecon Creek a distance of 300 feet more or less to a point; thence southwesterly parallel with and 400 feet easterly when measured at right angles thereto from Burning Tree Boulevard, a distance of 3,420 feet more or less to a point; thence southerly, parallel with and 400 feet easterly when measured at right angles thereto from Absecon Boulevard, a distance of 1,050 feet more or less to a point; thence northwesterly a distance of 1,950 feet more or less to a point in the center line of the right-of-way of the Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines where the same is intersected by the division line between the Cities of Absecon City and Pleasantville; westwardly, southwestwardly and westwardly along said division line between the Cities of Absecon City and Pleasantville a total distance of 2,100 feet to the center line of Shore Road; southwestwardly along the center line of Shore Road and in the division line between the Cities of Absecon City and Pleasantville, 500 feet more or less to the center line of California Avenue; northwestwardly along the center line of California Avenue and part in the division between the Cities of Absecon City and Pleasantville and part in the division line between the City of Absecon City and the Township of Egg Harbor to the center line of Fire Road; northwestwardly along the division between the City of Absecon City and the Township of Egg Harbor to a point being one of the corners described in the original act incorporating the City of Absecon City; northeastwardly along the division line between the City of Absecon City and the Townships of Egg Harbor and Galloway to another corner as described in the original act incorporating the City of Absecon City; southeastwardly along the division line between the City of Absecon City and the Township of Galloway to the point of beginning.
This chapter is deemed necessary by the Common Council because the area described herein is too thickly populated to permit the use of firearms without endangering the lives of persons dwelling therein.
Any person violating this chapter, upon conviction before the Municipal Judge or other proper official, shall be subject to a fine of not exceeding $100 or imprisonment not exceeding 10 days, or both, for each offense, in the discretion of said Municipal Judge or other proper official hearing said violation.
