Editor's Note: This ordinance also provided that its changes will go into effect upon oath of office of a newly elected or appointed Mayor, Council member or Council President. Current seated Mayor, Council members and Council President will not be affected until the end of their current term or resignation of position.
The salary of the Mayor shall be $0 per year.

The salary of the elected Tax Collector of the Borough of Greenville shall be established as provided herein.
The salary of the elected Tax Collector of the Borough of Greenville shall be $4,275 per year for the four-year term. The yearly compensation shall be the salary for the collection of real estate taxes.
The Borough of Greenville shall pay the Tax Collector $3,400 per year for expenses for the four years, other than those specifically the responsibility of the Borough of Greenville for the collection of real estate taxes.
The setting of the compensation of the Tax Collector and the allotment of expenses shall take effect at the beginning of the new year 1998.
