Editor's Note: Former Art. I, Residency Requirements, adopted 8-14-2000 by Ord. No. 473, as amended, was repealed 5-9-2005 by Ord. No. 519. This ordinance also provided for the exemption of certain specific officers and employees from the residency requirements of N.J.S.A. 40A:60-6 and that it should be retroactive to 4-1-1991.

§ 40-1 through § 40-3. (Reserved)

§ 40-4 Clerk-Typist.

A. 
The following guidelines shall be effective for all Clerk-Typists in the Borough of Buena who work 30 hours per week (1,560 hours per year):

§ 40-7 Tax Collector.

§ 40-8 Chief Financial Officer.

The salary of the Chief Financial Officer is hereby initially fixed for a thirty-hour work week at $34,800.12.

§ 40-9 Municipal Clerk.

The following guidelines shall be applicable to the Municipal Clerk, who works a thirty-five-hour week (1,820 hours per year):

§ 40-11 Provisions applicable to all positions.

A. 
When an employee in a position covered by a salary step scale in this article reaches the top step, salary increases shall be as set forth in a salary resolution to be adopted yearly by the Council of the Borough of Buena. Any increases beyond the fifth step shall be based on a percentage of the prior year's base salary.
B. 
Any employee covered by a salary guideline in this article who is hired after January 1, 2001, will receive a pay raise to the next salary step on such employee's anniversary date of hire.
C. 
The Borough Council shall consider salary increases each year for employees in each position described in this article. The Borough Council may increase the wages set forth in this article by passage of a resolution increasing top pay in each position by a percentage as set forth in such resolution. The percentage increase applicable to the top pay for each position shall increase the sum to be paid to employees on steps 1 through 4 by the same percentage.

§ 40-12 Effective date.

This article shall be effective July 1, 2001, and shall take effect upon passage and publication as provided by law.
