This Part 3A shall be known and may be cited as the "Lower Southampton Township Drug-Alcohol Task Force Advisory Board Ordinance."
2. 
The purpose of this Part 3A is to create and establish a Drug-Alcohol Task Force Advisory Board for the Township of Lower Southampton. The said Board will advise the Board of Supervisors on all matters pertaining to the reduction and ultimate elimination of drug and alcohol abuse within the Township of Lower Southampton.

There is hereby created and established in the Township of Lower Southampton, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, a Drug-Alcohol Task Force Advisory Board to be known as the "Lower Southampton Township Drug-Alcohol Task Force Advisory Board" (hereinafter referred to as the "advisory board"), consisting of five members who shall reside within the Township and shall serve without compensation.

The members of the advisory board shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors, each for a term of one year, which term shall expire on the first Monday in January.

The advisory board shall review and advise the Board of Supervisors on all matters pertaining to the reduction and ultimate elimination of drug and alcohol abuse within the Township of Lower Southampton.
2. 
The duties of the advisory board shall include, but not be limited:
A. 
To plan and develop drug and alcohol abuse prevention activity within the Township.
B. 
To educate Township residents regarding the dangers, effects and abuse of drugs and alcohol.
C. 
To serve as a forum for the exchange of information and ideas related to drug and alcohol abuse prevention.
D. 
To identify projects on a regular basis and to carry out activities in an aggressive manner to fulfill the above-stated objectives.

1. 
The advisory board shall meet at a convenient time and place as soon as possible after the first Monday in January of each year, and at such time shall organize as a Board by electing one of their members as Chairman. The Board shall appoint a Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
2. 
The advisory board shall meet as often as shall be required to perform its duties.
