[Adopted 11-13-1989 by Ord. No. 28-1989 (Ch. 5, Art. XLIV, § 5-239, of the 1980 City Code)]
There is hereby created and designated the position of Supervisor, Public Firesafety Education. The title shall be designated within the Fire Department for internal purposes as Special Chief of Public Firesafety Education. The Supervisor named herein shall be appointed by the East Orange Fire Department and confirmed by the Mayor.

The Supervisor, Public Firesafety Education, under the supervision of the Chief of the Department, shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:
A. 
Administer, supervise and direct the personnel and work of the Public Safety Education Bureau.
B. 
Research and develop firesafety programs in the commission and provide instruction for schools, community organizations, City employees, etc.
C. 
Assist and interact on community relations matters in rehabilitation and counseling juvenile fire setters.
D. 
Coordinate efforts with various communities throughout in relation to firesafety.
E. 
Relay programs to firesafety programs.
