It shall become unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to leave or permit to remain outside of any dwelling, building or other structure, or within any unoccupied or abandoned building, dwelling or other structure under his or their control, in a place accessible to children, any abandoned, unattended or discarded ice box, refrigerator or other container which has an airtight door or lid, snap lock or other locking device which may not be released from the inside without first removing said door or lid, snap lock or other locking device from said icebox, refrigerator or container.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine in an amount not exceeding $50 or be imprisoned in the Hartford County Jail for a period not exceeding 30 days, or be both so fined and imprisoned. Each day such violation is committed or permitted shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
