For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall
have the meanings indicated:
A pipe connected with the drainpipes for the purpose of admitting
fresh air from or near the surface of the ground.
The home or residence of the person holding the license and
conducting the business. The home or residence of a member of the
firm or corporation. A shop or store or portion of the same. An office
or space in an office building displaying a sign on the front of his
or their place of business, "Registered Plumber," bearing the name
or names of the person, firm or corporation.
The horizontal drain and its branches extending to and connecting
with a private sewer or public sewer or septic tank.
The main or principal kind of drainpipe connected to a septic
tank or sewer, and to which branch drainpipes are connected.
A person or persons who have served four years' apprenticeship
and two years as a journeyman plumber and who have a bona fide place
of business.
The art of installing in buildings the pipes, fixtures and
other apparatus for bringing in the water supply and removing liquid
and water-carried wastes.
The sewers not owned by the Borough of Sharon Hill or by
any sewer authority.
The sewers owned by the Borough of Sharon Hill.
A suitable pressure-relief valve shall be installed on hot-water
storage tanks. Suitable means shall be taken on the hot-water system
to prevent the heating and storage of hot water heated to a higher
temperature than boiling point at atmospheric pressure (212° F.).
Any vertical pipe extending through the roof or not, which
receives the discharge of any one or more water closets, with or without
other fixtures.
Any special pipe provided to ventilate a system of drainage
and to prevent trap siphonage and back pressure.
Any pipe receiving the discharge from any fixture except
water closets, and also any vertical pipe extending through the roof
receiving the same character of discharge.
