Editor's Note: This local law was approved at referendum by a majority of qualified voters at a special election held 11-6-1979.
It shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining a license as provided in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, to conduct games of chance within the Town of Mount Hope, subject to the provisions of this chapter, Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law and the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
The conduct of games of chance on Sunday is permitted only when it is specifically provided for in the license issued. No games of chance, however, shall be conducted on Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur.
The Police Department of the Town of Mount Hope shall exercise control over and supervision of all games of chance.
Pursuant to General Municipal Law § 190, Subdivision 3, certain "repeat" authorized organizations may submit summary applications.
This amended chapter shall be effective 30 days following enactment.
