Within an area on the Atlantic Ocean bounded on the north by the crest of the primary dune, on the south by the mean high-water mark and on the east and west respectively by the East Hampton Town line and the Southampton Town line, the following regulations shall apply:
A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate a motor vehicle on ocean beach areas between the Friday immediately preceding Memorial Day and the 15th day of September in each year between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
B. 
No person shall drive or operate a motor vehicle in excess of 10 miles per hour on any ocean beach areas within the Village.
C. 
No person shall drive or operate any all-terrain vehicle (ATV) (including quads, mules, gators) or motorcycle at any time on any ocean beach areas within the Village.
D. 
No person shall drive or operate a motor vehicle on any dunes, beach grasses or wetlands vegetation of any kind.
E. 
The provisions of this article shall not apply to town, Village, county or state employees or contractors working under the direction or supervision of the town, Village or emergency vehicles.
F. 
The provisions shall not apply to a commercial fisherman holding a valid New York State Department of Environmental Conservation "Resident Marine Commercial Food Fish Fishing License" actively engaged in a commercial fishing activity. All other restrictions shall apply.
G. 
In no event shall any motor vehicle drive or operate on ocean beach areas, excepting a vehicle displaying either a valid and current County of Suffolk recreational vehicle use permit or a valid and current Southampton Trustees beach driving permit.

This article may be enforced by any Town of Southampton police officer or Code Enforcement Officer.
Any violation of this article shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $1,000.
