This Part 1 may be known and may be cited as the "Jackson Township Livestock Ordinance."
Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following words and phrases shall be construed throughout this Part 1 to have the meanings herein indicated:
LIVESTOCK
Any domestic animal maintained or kept by persons within the Township and shall include, but not be limited to, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, donkeys, mules, but excluding dogs and cats.
PERSON
Any partnership, association or corporation.
TOWNSHIP
Jackson Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.

No person in the Township shall permit livestock to roam at large. It shall be the duty of all persons in the Township to maintain livestock on the premises of such persons, whether owned or leased, and failure to do so shall be a violation of this Part 1.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Part 1, upon conviction thereof in an action brought before a District Justice in the manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000, plus costs, and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation of this Part 1 continues or each section of this Part 1 which shall be found to have been violated shall constitute a separate offense.
