All exterior lights shall have cutoff fixtures, shields, baffles,
and appropriate application of fixture mounting height, wattage, aiming
angle and fixture placement to direct light away from adjoining lots
and streets. Vegetative screens shall not be employed to serve as
the primary means of controlling glare.
If the Code Officer of Lower Moreland Township determines that
lighting creates a safety or personal security hazard, or the lighting
installation produces unacceptable nuisance of lighting glare, excessive
or insufficient illumination levels or otherwise, the persons responsible
for the lighting shall be notified, in writing, and required to take
remedial action. If appropriate corrective action has not been made
within 30 days of written notification, the Township Code Enforcement
Officer may commence legal action. Any person who violates or permits
a violation of this article shall, upon being found liable of a summary
offense before a Magisterial District Judge, pay a fine of not less
than $100 nor more than $1,000, plus all court costs. The appropriate
officers of Lower Moreland Township are further authorized to seek
equitable relief to enforce compliance with this article.
