§ 248-20 Parking within marked spaces.

Wherever a space is marked off on any street for the parking of an individual vehicle, every vehicle parked there shall be parked wholly within the lines bounding that space, and it shall be a violation of this article for any person to park a vehicle or allow it to remain parked otherwise.

§ 248-21 Parking prohibited at all times.

§ 248-22 Parking prohibited certain days and hours.

Parking shall be prohibited in the following locations at all times on the days and between the hours indicated in this section as follows:

§ 248-23 Parking of trucks, buses and other vehicles.

The parking of any large truck or other large commercial transit vehicle on or within any residential street, alley, roadway, right-of-way, driveway, lawn or other location within the Borough of Irwin at any time is hereby prohibited.

Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

COMMERCIAL TRANSIT VEHICLE

Any bus or other vehicle used primarily for public transportation, including, but not limited to, ambulances, emergency vehicles and fire trucks.

LARGE TRUCK

A tractor trailer with more than six wheels, any truck or commercial vehicle with three axles or more, with or without a detachable trailer, including a tractor and the trailer portion thereof.

Penalties for violation shall be as set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicles Code.[1]

§ 248-24 Parking time limited.

No person shall park a vehicle, or allow it to remain parked, for longer than the time indicated in any of the following locations at any time on the days and between the hours indicated:

§ 248-25 Special purpose parking zones.

The following are established as special purpose parking zones, and it shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle or to allow it to remain parked in any such zone, except as specifically provided for that zone:

§ 248-26 Angle parking.

Only angle parking shall be permitted on the following portions of streets:

On all streets where angle parking is required, every vehicle parked at the angle shall be parked with its front nearest the curb.

§ 248-27 Permit parking areas.

The following are established as permit parking areas, with the fees for the same to be set by Council by way of resolution, with 104 permits being made available:

§ 248-28 Violations and penalties.

Any person who violates any provision of this article shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $25, and costs, provided it shall be the duty of the police officers and of parking enforcement personnel of the Borough to report to the appropriate official all violations of any provision of this article, indicating, in each case, the provision violated; the license number of the vehicle involved in the violation; the location where the violation took place; and any other facts that might be necessary in order to secure a clear understanding of the circumstances attending the violation. The police officer or other person making the report shall also attach to or place upon every such vehicle a notice stating that the vehicle was parked in violation of this article. The notice shall contain instructions to the owner or driver of the vehicle that if they will report to the Borough of Irwin Deposit Box and pay the sum of $10 within 15 days after the time of the notice, that act will save the violator from prosecution and from payment of the fine and costs prescribed in the first sentence of this section.
