The office of Public Health Nurse
Part time in and for the Borough of Paramus is hereby created, subject to the provisions of this article.
The Public Health Nurse shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.
The Public Health Nurse shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed, from time to time, by the general salary ordinance of the Borough of Paramus.[1]

The Public Health Nurse shall meet the following requirements:
A. 
Education. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in nursing or public health.
B. 
License. Applicants must possess a current and valid registration as a professional nurse in the State of New Jersey.
A. 
Applicants will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
B. 
Under direction, teaches, counsels, conducts epidemiological investigations, and provides public health nursing services in homes, clinics, and schools to individuals and families in the community for a public health agency; uses knowledge from nursing, social and public health sciences to promote and protect the health of populations through the performance of core public health functions and the delivery of essential public health services; does related work as required.
