No person shall conduct a circus, fair, carnival, traveling carnival,
rodeo or similar public exhibition within the Township of Deerfield without
having first obtained a license and paid the required license fee.
The fee for a license under this chapter shall be $25 for each day that
the activity is to be conducted. Each license shall be issued for one day,
except that a license may be extended for any number of consecutive days,
excluding Sundays, upon the payment of the per diem license fee. Religious,
charitable, fraternal and similar nonprofit organizations conducting activities
licensed by this chapter in order to raise money for charity or some other
public purpose, or for the entertainment or recreation of the residents of
the Township, shall not be required to pay any fee but shall comply with all
other provisions of this chapter.
In addition to the application information required by § 64-2, an application for a license under this chapter shall contain the following information:
A.
The date or dates on which and the hours during which
the licensed activity will be conducted.
B.
A list of all the games, attractions, contests or performances
that will be included in the activity to be conducted; a general description
of each and, if not operated by the licensee or his employees, the name and
address of the concessionaire or other persons operating them.
C.
A description of the off-street parking and sanitary
facilities available at the location at which the activity is to be conducted.
D.
Appropriate evidence that the licensee has made adequate
provision as required for the payment of workmen's compensation to any of
his employees who shall be injured.

In addition to the investigation required by § 64-3, the premises at which the licensed activity is to be conducted shall be inspected by the Township Clerk or a police officer designated by him to determine if there is adequate off-street parking available and that the licensed activity can be conducted without endangering public health or safety. The official shall report the results of his investigations to the Township Committee within a reasonable time.
Upon receiving the reports of the results of the investigations, the
Township Clerk shall transmit them, together with the information contained
in the application for the license, to the Township Committee. The Township
Committee shall approve or disapprove the application within a reasonable
time. Upon the approval of the Township Committee and payment of the required
license fee, the Clerk shall immediately issue the license. The license shall
be valid only on the date or dates and during the hours set forth in the application.
