This Article shall be known and may be cited as the "Ordinance Prohibiting the Possession and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages in Public Places."
No person shall have in his possession or carry or transport any open bottle or open container containing liquor, wine, beer or other alcoholic beverage, with the intent to consume, while such person is in or upon any public sidewalk, street, highway, parking lot or other village property without the permission of the Village Board. No person shall have in his possession or carry or transport any open bottle or open container containing liquor, wine, beer or other alcoholic beverages with the intent to consume, while such person is in the public parks known as "Mat G. Boname M.D. Park," "Fort Hill Park," "LaFayette Park" and "Washington Park" without permission of the Village Board.

No person shall drink or otherwise consume liquor, wine, beer or other alcoholic beverages while such person is in or upon any public sidewalk, street, highway, parking lot or other village property without the permission of the Village Board. No person shall drink or otherwise consume liquor, wine, beer or other alcoholic beverage while such person is in the public parks known as "Mat G. Boname M.D. Park," "Fort Hill Park," "LaFayette Park" and "Washington Park" without permission of the Village Board.
Any person in violation of this Article shall be subject to a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or to imprisonment for not more than fifteen (15) days, or both.

No person under the age of twenty-one (21) years shall be in any public place within the Village of Oxford after having consumed alcoholic beverages or in any vehicle parked, stopped or traveling in or on any public parking lot, street or park owned by the village.
An exception shall be those persons that have consumed alcoholic beverages in accordance with the provisions of § 260.20 Subdivision 4, of the Penal Law of the State of New York.
A person in violation of this Article shall be subject to a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or to imprisonment for not more than fifteen (15) days, or both.
