A Municipal Court is hereby established in the Borough of Haddon Heights, County of Camden and State of New Jersey, pursuant to Chapter 293 of the Laws of 1993, State of New Jersey, and the amendments and supplements thereto (N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq.).

Said Court shall have all of the powers, duties, jurisdiction and limitations conferred and provided by any law of the State of New Jersey and any rule or rules of the New Jersey Supreme Court.

There shall be a Municipal Court Administrator, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval by the Borough Council, and who shall perform such duties as may be imposed by law.

There shall be a Violations Clerk, who shall be designated by the Judge of the Municipal Court and who shall also serve as Deputy Court Clerk. There shall also be a Deputy Violations Clerk similarly designated.

There is hereby created the office of Municipal Prosecutor pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:87-15.[1]

The office of Municipal Prosecutor shall be filled by the appointment of a person, admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey, as a Municipal Attorney for the Borough, with limited duties as hereinafter defined.

The services to be performed by the Municipal Prosecutor shall be to prosecute before the Haddon Heights Municipal Court all complaints for violation of the municipal ordinances of the Borough and the State Motor Vehicle Code, and to appear on behalf of the state or the Borough in all other criminal proceedings which come before the Haddon Heights Municipal Court.
