The Township Committee shall annually elect one of its number as Chairman, at the annual meeting. He shall be referred to as "Mayor" and shall perform all the duties of the Mayor. Duties of the Mayor shall be to:
A. 
Appoint advisory committees to study and make recommendations to the Township Committee.
B. 
Appoint members to certain boards and commissions.
C. 
Issue proclamations.
D. 
Serve as the Township's chief official at meetings and ceremonies.
E. 
Execute contracts, agreements and other legal documents following authorization from the Township Committee.
F. 
Conduct all Township Committee meetings.
G. 
Serve as a member ex officio on certain statutory boards and commissions.
H. 
Participate in meetings of the Committee and vote as other Committee members.
I. 
While presiding over meetings of the Committee, have the right to move, second and debate from the Chair and shall not be deprived of any right to vote, or any other rights, powers or duties of a Committeeman by virtue of his presiding over the meeting.
The Deputy Mayor shall serve in place of the Mayor in the event of the absence of the Mayor or his disability or refusal to act. When serving as Acting Mayor, the Deputy Mayor shall have all of the rights, powers and duties of the Mayor.
