Editor's Note: This ordinance also repealed former Ch. 16, Economic Development Advisory Committee, adopted 10-21-1985, as amended.
The Economic Development Committee (EDC) is hereby created.
The Economic Development Committee shall be advisory to the Township Mayor and Council and the Township Manager.
The duties of the Economic Development Committee shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
A. 
Development of plans, programs and strategies to encourage the expansion and strengthening of existing business and commercial enterprises in Byram Township, consistent with the goals and objective of the Sustainable Economic Development Plan and conforming to the Township's Master Plan.
B. 
Development of plans, programs and strategies for attracting new business and commercial enterprises to the Township of Byram consistent with the goals and objectives of the Sustainable Economic Development Plan of the Township as a whole and conforming to the Township's Master Plan.
C. 
Any other studies and/or presentations deemed necessary by the Township Mayor and Council and Township Manager relating to the further economic growth and development of the Township.
The Economic Development Committee shall provide representation with the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership, Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and any other appropriate county, regional or state economic development activities.
The Economic Development Committee shall be appointed annually by the Township Council and shall be comprised of five to nine members of the general public, including a member of the Township Council and the Planning Director or his/her designee.
The Economic Development Committee shall organize itself in a manner that shall ensure the most efficient carrying out of its assigned tasks. The EDC shall elect a Chairman, a Vice Chairman and Secretary from among the members of the Committee.
