The Chief of Police of the Monroe Village Police Department shall designate, with the consent of the Village Board of Trustees, parking enforcement officers. Such officers shall be public servants, authorized to issue simplified traffic information for violations of any parking regulation enacted by the Village Board and/or included in the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York. Any appointment made hereunder shall terminate upon a vote by the Village Board. The establishment and appointment of the position of parking enforcement officer shall in no way infringe upon the powers and duties of any police officer to enforce any parking law or regulation. The position of parking enforcement officer when held in addition to and in conjunction with the normal duties of any public servant so designated will not require additional financial compensation.
