GENERAL REFERENCES
Taxation — See Ch. 215.
No person shall hereafter occupy, allow to be occupied or let to another person for occupancy, any residential rental unit within the Township of Mahoning unless said landlord/lessor notifies the Township within 30 days after said occupancy, the name, address and number of person(s) occupying each specific unit. The registration shall contain the following minimum information:
A. 
Name, address and telephone number of the property owner;
B. 
Name, address and telephone number of the designated local property manager, if the property owner lives outside the Township and has a property manager;
C. 
The street address of the rental property; and
D. 
The name and number of occupants of the individuals occupying said unit.
A registration for each residential unit shall be filed by January 30 of each calendar year and, then throughout the year whenever there is a change of occupants as set forth above. All registrations under this chapter shall be forwarded to the Township Secretary within 60 days after enactment hereof for the first year.
No fee shall be charged for this registration.
Any person who violates or permits a violation of this chapter shall, upon being found liable therefor in a civil enforcement proceeding commenced by the Township before a District Justice, pay a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $600, plus all court costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, incurred by the Township in the enforcement of this chapter. No judgment shall be imposed until the date of the determination of the violation by the District Justice. If the defendant neither pays nor timely appeals the judgment, the Township may enforce the judgment pursuant to the applicable Rules of Civil Procedure. Each day a violation exists shall constitute a separate offense. Further, the appropriate officers or agents of the Township are hereby authorized to seek equitable relief, including injunction, to enforce compliance herewith.
