The office of the Village Attorney is hereby created. The head of this office shall be known as the "Village Attorney," who shall have such assistance as may be made available by the Village Board.
A. 
The Village Attorney shall be appointed by the Village Board after having been recommended by the Village President.
B. 
The Village Attorney's employment may be terminated upon 60 days' written notice given by either the Village Board or the Village Attorney.
C. 
The salary of the Village Attorney, fringe benefits and other conditions of employment shall be determined by the Village Board.
The Village Attorney shall be the chief legal advisor to the Village Board and to the Village Manager and shall be responsible for preparing and drafting legal opinions, ordinances, rules and regulations as may be required for expediting Village matters. The Village Attorney shall also serve as the prosecuting attorney in the Village Municipal Court and shall represent the Village in other court and commission hearings as may be required.
