As used in and for the purpose of this article, certain words and phrases shall have the meanings herein indicated:
AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLES
All vehicles of the Fire Department, Police Department and Beach Patrol, ambulances, other City vehicles and such other vehicles as are approved by the Chief of Police and operated in response to an emergency call.
AUTHORIZED VEHICLES
Such vehicles as are approved by the Chief of Police and operated for some special occasion or purpose.
VEHICLE
An automobile, bicycle, motor bike, motor tricycle, motor scooter, motorcycle, tricycle, omnibus, taxi or rolling chair, including any motorized rolling chair, truck, trackless train, tractor or trailer.
No vehicle shall be permitted to be used or operated on the Boardwalk and the approaches thereto at any time except as is hereinafter provided.
A. 
Authorized emergency vehicles shall be permitted in response to an emergency call.
B. 
Authorized vehicles shall be permitted, provided that approval for so doing shall be first obtained from the Chief of Police.
C. 
Bicycles shall be permitted on the Boardwalk in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 75, Bicycles.

No vehicle, baby coach or stroller shall be permitted to park or be left unattended at any time on the boardwalk or the approaches thereto.

No animal shall be permitted on the boardwalk or approaches thereto, whether it be attended or unattended.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not to exceed $100 or by imprisonment not to exceed 30 days, or both. In addition to or as a substitute for the previously mentioned fine, the imposition of community service shall be authorized as an additional penalty, which community service shall not exceed 90 days.
