No satellite television antenna shall be erected, constructed, maintained or operated except in conformance with the following regulations.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
SATELLITE TELEVISION ANTENNA
An apparatus capable of receiving communications from a transmitter or a transmitter relay located in planetary orbit.
USABLE SATELLITE SIGNAL
A satellite signal, which, when viewed on a conventional television set, is at least equal in picture quality to that received from local commercial television stations or by way of cable television.
A. 
In commercial, single-family or multifamily residential zones subject to the provisions contained herein, such antenna shall be located only in the rear yard of any lot. If a usable satellite signal cannot be obtained from such rear yard, the antenna may be located on the side or front yard of the property, subject to Planning Board approval.
B. 
In the event that a usable satellite signal cannot be obtained by locating the antenna on the rear or side or front yard of the property, such antenna may be placed on the roof of the dwelling structure, provided that a building permit is obtained prior to such installation. Such permit shall be issued upon a showing by the applicant that a usable satellite signal is not obtainable from any other location on the property and provided, further, that the construction and erection is otherwise in compliance with the Building and Electrical Codes.
C. 
Any satellite or communication dish having a diameter of two feet or less which is attached to the principal structure and which does not violate any of the bulk requirements of the zoning district as contained in Chapter 102, Development Regulations, of this Code may be administratively approved by the Construction Code Official.

Subject to § 183-3B, in commercial, single-family or multifamily residential zones, such antenna shall not exceed 20 feet in height, including any platform or structure upon which said antenna is mounted or affixed. Satellite television antennas shall be located and designed to reduce visual impact from surrounding properties and from public streets.
A. 
All antennas, and the construction and installation thereof, shall conform to the manufacturer's installation instructions, the Building Code and the Electrical Code.
B. 
Antennas shall meet all manufacturer's specifications, shall be on noncombustible and corrosive-resistant material and shall be erected in a secure, wind-resistant manner.
C. 
Every antenna must be adequately grounded for protection against a direct strike of lightning.
