There is hereby created and established a Planning Commission to be known and designated as "Borough of Mount Oliver Planning Commission."

The Council of the Borough of Mount Oliver shall appoint three members to serve on the Planning Commission. All members of the Commission shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for necessary and reasonable expenses. However, elected or appointed officers or employees of the municipality shall not by reason of membership therein forfeit the right to exercise the powers, perform the duties or receive the compensation of the municipal offices held by them during such membership.
The term of each of the members of the Planning Commission shall be for four (4) years or until his successor is appointed and qualified, except that the terms of the first members appointed pursuant to this chapter shall be so fixed that no more than three (3) shall be reappointed or replaced during any future calendar year.
The terms of each of the members first appointed under the terms of this chapter shall commence December 1, 1969, and all subsequent appointments or reappointments to the Planning Commission shall be effective December 1 of each succeeding calendar year.
