It shall be unlawful for any person or corporation to construct, repair, erect (including excavating), demolish or alter any building or make, create or cause any loud or unusual noise by mechanical or manual means or operation, before 7:00 a.m. (prevailing time) and after 10:00 p.m. (prevailing time), except in case of an emergency or urgent necessity in the interest of public health and safety and then only with a permit from the Building Inspector or Police Department.

It shall be unlawful for any person or business entity to use power equipment for the maintenance of lawns, trees, hedges, edging or any other power landscaping equipment before the hour of 8:00 a.m. or after the hour of 9:00 p.m., prevailing time, in the City of Northfield.

A. 
Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter to the contrary, any private golf course, public golf course, and country club operating with the City of Northfield shall be permitted to begin using power equipment for the maintenance of lawns, trees, hedges, edging and other power landscaping equipment beginning at 7:00 a.m.
B. 
Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter to the contrary, during the period of time between and including the Saturday preceding Memorial Day to Labor Day, any private golf course, public golf course, and country club operating with the City of Northfield shall be permitted to begin using such equipment at 6:00 am on weekends and state and federal holidays and 6:30 a.m. on non-holiday weekdays.

The penalty for violation of any provision of this article shall be as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, § 1-15.
