§ 13-3Terms; vacancies.
The African-American Advisory Board shall consist of five members appointed by a majority vote of the governing body.
The members shall be residents of the City of Camden.
The terms of the members shall be for three years from the dates of their appointments and until their successors are appointed and qualified; except that of the first appointments hereunder, one shall be for a term of one year, two for two years and two for three years. Vacancies resulting from causes other than by expiration of term shall be filled for the unexpired terms only and shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments were made.
The Board shall meet periodically and in conformity with the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-1 et seq., and shall report to the governing body.
There is no provision made for the hiring or employment of officers or employees. This body shall function in an advisory capacity, making recommendations as to legislation and policy for the betterment of the African-American community.
