This article shall be known and cited as "An Ordinance Establishing Fire Limits Within the City of Schenectady."
The purpose of this article is to establish fire limits within the City, within which the administration and enforcement of Article II of this chapter, together with the State Building Construction Code as provided for in Article 18 of the Executive Law of the State of New York accepted by the City of Schenectady by Resolution No. 7347, shall apply.
Fire limits are hereby established and shall embrace all the territory within the following limits:  Beginning at a point in the center line of Washington Avenue, where Washington Avenue intersects the Mohawk River at the Scotia Bridge and runs thence westerly and at right angles to the westerly line of Washington Avenue 200 feet; thence southerly parallel with the westerly line of Washington Avenue and 200 feet distant westerly therefrom and continuing southerly and easterly to a point 200 feet distant westerly and southerly from the westerly side of Washington Avenue and the southerly side of Edison Avenue to a point on the easterly property line of the New York Central Railroad; thence southwesterly along this property line to a point 200 feet from the southerly property line of Broadway; thence northeasterly 200 feet distant therefrom and parallel with the southerly property line of Broadway to a point in the southwest property line of Pleasant Valley Park; thence southeasterly along this property line 100 feet; thence easterly 100 feet distant therefrom and parallel with the southerly property line of Veeder Avenue to a point which is 200 feet from the westerly property line of Hamilton Street and 100 feet from the southerly property line of Veeder Avenue; thence southerly 100 feet to a point which is 200 feet from the westerly side of Hamilton Street and 200 feet from the southerly side of Veeder Avenue; thence easterly 200 feet distant therefrom and parallel with the southerly side of Veeder Avenue to a point 200 feet westerly from Albany Street; thence southerly and parallel with the westerly side of Albany Street to a point in the northerly property line of Craig Street; thence easterly along the northerly property line of Craig Street 50 feet to a point 150 feet from the westerly street line of Albany Street; thence southeasterly and parallel with the westerly street line of Albany Street across Hamlin Street and Steuben Street to a point which is 200 feet from the southerly side of Steuben Street and 150 feet from the westerly side of Albany Street; thence easterly and parallel with the southerly side of Steuben Street, across Albany Street and State Street to a point in the northerly property line of Eagle Street which point is 200 feet from the easterly property line of State Street; thence westerly and parallel with State Street and distant northerly 200 feet therefrom, across Moyston Street, Catherine Street, Chestnut Street, Mynderse Street, Grove Place and Close Street to the point 200 feet easterly from the easterly line of Nott Terrace; thence northerly and parallel with Nott Terrace and 200 feet distant easterly therefrom to a point 200 feet northerly of the northerly line of Union Street; thence westerly on a line parallel with Union Street and 200 feet distant northerly therefrom to a point 100 feet easterly of the easterly line of North Church Street; thence northerly and parallel with Church Street and at a distance 100 feet therefrom to a point 100 feet northerly of the north line of Front Street; thence westerly on a line parallel to Front Street and 100 feet distant therefrom to a point 200 feet easterly from the easterly line of Washington Avenue; thence on a line parallel with Washington Avenue and 200 feet easterly distant therefrom to the Mohawk River; thence along the Mohawk River westerly to the place of beginning.
