The Town Board may, by resolution, appoint an officer or employee of
the Town to sign checks and obligations as authorized by the Town Board and
to accept for deposit revenues received on behalf of the Town in the event
that there is no one serving as Supervisor or Deputy Supervisor who is capable
of performing said functions. Before he or she shall perform any function
as such, he or she shall take and file the constitutional oath of office and
execute and file an official undertaking in the manner prescribed by § 25
of the Town Law.
