The provisions of Chapter 55, being Sections 979 to 988 and Sections 483-d to 502-d inclusive, of the Connecticut General Statutes, Revision of 1949, as amended,[1] are hereby adopted.

The Redevelopment Agency hereby created pursuant to the provision of Section 980 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Revision of 1949, as amended,[1] is designated the Branford Redevelopment Agency.

Members of the said Redevelopment Agency shall be electors of the Town of Branford and shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen with the approval of the governing body as follows:
A. 
The five original members of said Agency shall be appointed, one member for a term expiring on the 31st day of January 1959, and one member for a term expiring on the 31st day of January of each year thereafter until January 31, 1963.
B. 
In the month of January in each year, one member of the Redevelopment Agency shall be appointed for a term of five years beginning the first day of February next thereafter.
C. 
Vacancies in the Redevelopment Agency shall be filled by the Board of Selectmen for the unexpired portion of the term, subject to the approval of the governing body.
The Redevelopment Agency shall elect a Chairman and a Vice Chairman from among its members and shall meet at the call of the Chairman and at such other times as said Board may determine.
