There shall be an administrative charge of $5 a day, or for any part
of a day, for all automobiles or other motor vehicles impounded by the Police
Department. The administrative charge shall be assessed each day until the
automobile or other motor vehicle is released to the owner.
The Borough Clerk or Administrator shall be given a record of all impounding
by the Police Department and shall record such with necessary dates. He/she
shall have the authority to collect the administrative charges and give a
receipt therefor. In the absence of the Clerk or Administrator, the members
of the Police Department, in charge when such automobile or other vehicle
is released, may collect the administrative charges, give such receipt and
turn over the fees to the Borough Clerk or Administrator. For such purpose
the Police Department shall have a duplicate record of the dates of vehicles
impounded.
All administrative charges shall be deposited in the general funds of
the borough.
