In addition to the officers to be elected, the
Township Committee may appoint and employ a Municipal Administrator,
Township Attorney, Township Engineer, Township Building Inspector,
Township Physician, Township Treasurer, Tax Assessor, Tax Collector,
Township Clerk and such other officers as it shall require provided
new officers shall first be created by ordinance. The Township Clerk
shall hold office for three years, subject to any right of tenure
prescribed by the laws of New Jersey.

All appointive officers, except where otherwise
provided by law, shall hold office until January 1 next following
the appointment, except the Municipal Administrator.
Where a vacancy occurs in any appointive office,
the Township Committee shall fill the vacancy for the unexpired term,
except in the case where the Township Committee shall grant a leave
of absence to join any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States.
No officer shall hold over in his office after the expiration of the
term for which he has been appointed.
