[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Freehold
5-25-1970 (§ 12-16 of the Revised General Ordinances), as amended
through Ord. No. O-85-20. Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
There are established in the Township fire districts designated as Fire
District No. 1 and Fire District No. 2, the limits of each being more particularly
described in this chapter.
A.
The voters of the respective fire districts shall by
ballot determine the amount of money to be raised for the ensuing year, and
elect in each of the districts a Board of Fire Commissioners to consist of
five persons.
B.
The Boards of Fire Commissioners shall be responsible
for the administration of their respective fire districts pursuant to law.
Fire District No. 1 of the Township is more particularly described as
follows:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the center of New Jersey State
Highway No. 9 and the eastern corporate limits of the Township of Freehold
adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township of Howell; thence

In a westerly direction for a distance along the center of Highway No.
9 to its intersection with the center of Monmouth County Route No. 522, and
continuing in a westerly direction for a distance along the center of Route
522 to its intersection with the western corporate limits of the Township
of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township of Manalapan;
thence

In a southerly direction for a distance along the western corporate
limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the
Township of Manalapan, and continuing in a southerly direction for a distance
along the western corporate limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to
the corporate limits of the Township of Millstone, to the intersection with
the southern corporate limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the
corporate limits of the Township of Jackson in the County of Ocean; thence

In an easterly direction for a distance along the southern corporate
limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the Township of Jackson to
the intersection with the eastern corporate limits of the Township of Freehold
adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township of Howell; thence

d.
|
In a northerly direction for a distance along the eastern corporate
limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the Township of Howell to the
point or place of beginning.

Fire District No. 2 of the Township is more particularly described as
follows:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the center of New Jersey State

and adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township of Howell; thence

In a westerly direction for a distance along the center of Highway No.

continuing in a westerly direction for a distance along the center of Route
No. 522 to its intersection with the western corporate limits of the Township
of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township of Manalapan;

In a northerly direction for a distance along the western limits of
the Township of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township
of Manalapan to its intersection with the northern corporate limits of the
Township of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township of Marlboro;

In an easterly direction for a distance along the northern corporate
limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the
Township of Marlboro to its intersection with the eastern corporate limits
of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the Township
of Colts Neck; thence

In a southerly direction for a distance along the eastern corporate
limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the Township of Colts Neck,
and continuing in a southerly direction for a distance along the eastern corporate
limits of the Township of Freehold adjacent to the corporate limits of the
Township of Howell to the point or place of beginning.
