[Adopted 9-7-1967 as § 9-18 of the Revised General Ordinances]
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
OFFAL
Dead animals or parts thereof, market refuse, refuse from slaughterhouses and other flesh.
A license for the collection of offal shall be obtained from the Division of Health.
Collection of offal shall be governed by the following regulations:
A. 
Barrels must be delivered clean and free of all accumulated fats and debris. After each use the barrel is to be steam cleaned inside and out. Each licensee shall paint an identifying color on each barrel or stencil his/her name or other identifying mark on the same.
B. 
Trucks must be thoroughly washed down after each day's use and otherwise kept in as clean and sanitary condition as circumstances will permit.
C. 
Offal shall be transported only in a closed body truck or in an open truck with the entire body covered with a clean tarpaulin. In the case of a closed body truck with no rear door, the rear opening must also be draped with a clean tarpaulin.
D. 
The Division of Health shall have the power to make any additional regulations governing the collection of offal as are necessary to protect the public health, provided that they are not in conflict with this article.
Violations of the provisions of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty.
