Employees of the Village of Brewster who are not police officers and who are not peace officers are duly designated by the Village Clerk, authorized by the Village of Brewster Board of Trustees, as parking regulations enforcement officers, and shall be authorized to issue appearance tickets for violation of any provisions of Article III of this chapter and for violation of any provisions of Article 32 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
The Village of Brewster Board of Trustees may, subject to the provisions of the New York State Civil Service Law, appoint one or more Parking Enforcement Officers, whose duties shall be to patrol Village parking lots and other designated parking areas and to issue and serve appearance tickets for violation of all parking ordinances and regulations of the Village of Brewster, for violation of § 306 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, as amended, which requires the display of a certificate of inspection upon all motor vehicles operated or parked on public highways, and for violations of § 401 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, as amended, which requires registration of all motor vehicles operated or driven on a public highway.
