[HISTORY: Adopted by the City Council of the City of New Kensington 8-9-1977 by Ord. No. 5-77 as Part 17, Art. 1729 of the 1977 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
GENERAL REFERENCES
Building construction — See Ch. 78.
No person shall move any building or other structure within the same lot without first obtaining a permit from the City Engineer. The fee for the permit shall be fifty dollars ($50.). No such permit shall be issued until the Engineer has ascertained that no violation of any provision of Chapter 236, Zoning, will result from the moving of such building or structure.

No person shall move any building or other structure upon any of the streets or alleys in the city without first obtaining a permit from the City Engineer and presenting proof of insurance as assigned by the City Engineer. The fee for the permit shall be one hundred dollars ($100.). The application for the permit shall include a proposed route through the streets and/or alleys of the city. No such permit shall be issued until the Engineer has:
A. 
Ascertained that no violation of any provision of Chapter 236, Zoning, will result from the moving of such building or structure.
B. 
Accepted from the applicant a bond, in such amount as shall be required from the Engineer, for any damages that might result to the streets and alleys from such moving.
C. 
Fixed the time and the maximum length of time for the moving of such building or structure and the route over which the building or structure shall be moved.
D. 
Made all arrangements with public utility companies that may be necessary on account of the moving of such building or structure.
E. 
Notified the Chief of Police at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of such move.

The person to whom any permit to move a building is granted shall in all respects adhere strictly to the conditions specified in such permit.
Whoever violates any provision of this chapter shall be fined not more than six hundred dollars ($600.), and costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment, shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment not to exceed ninety (90) days.
