[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the

It is the purpose of this chapter to authorize
public servants of the Town of East Hampton to issue and serve appearance
tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, local laws,
ordinances or rules and regulations of the Town which the public servants
are authorized to enforce.

The following public servants of the Town of East Hampton are
hereby authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect
to the violation of a state statute that such public servants are
required to or authorized to enforce, or any local law, ordinance,
rule or regulation of the Town of East Hampton:
A.
Director
of Public Safety, Assistant Director of Public Safety, Director of
Code Enforecement, Chief Town Investigator, Town Investigators, and
Ordinance Enforcement Officers assigned to the Ordinance Enforcement
Department.

B.
Chief
Building Inspector, Senior Building Inspector and Building Inspectors
assigned to the Building Department.
C.
Chief
Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief Fire Marshal and Fire Marshals assigned
to the Department of Fire Prevention.
D.
Harbormasters
and Bay Constables assigned to the Department of Harbors and Docks.
E.
Animal
Shelter Supervisor and Animal Control Officers assigned to the Department
of Animal Control.

An appearance ticket other than for a parking violation shall
be served in any manner authorized by the New York State Criminal
Procedure Law.
