A. 
The purpose of these bylaws are declared to be:
(1) 
To promote the public health, safety and welfare.
(2) 
To encourage the most appropriate use of land.
(3) 
To prevent overcrowding of land.
(4) 
To conserve the value of land and buildings.
(5) 
To lessen congestion of traffic.
(6) 
To prevent undue concentration of population.
(7) 
To provide for adequate light and air.
(8) 
To reduce the hazards from fire and other danger.
(9) 
To assist in the economical provision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks and other public facilities.
(10) 
To preserve and increase the amenities of the Town.
B. 
In their interpretation and application the provisions of these bylaws shall be held to be the minimum requirements adopted for the promotion of these purposes.

This bylaw shall be enforced by the Building Inspector provided in MGL c. 40A, § 7.

A. 
Any person violating any of the provisions of these bylaws may be fined not more than $50 for each offense.

B. 
Each day that such violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.

This bylaw may be amended from time to time at an Annual or Special Town Meeting in accord with the provisions of MGL c. 40A, § 5.
The invalidity of any section or provision of this bylaw shall not invalidate any other section or provision thereof.

These bylaws shall take effect upon their passage by the Town Meeting.[1]
