A. 
Every person operating a motor vehicle on any public highway in the Town of Plattekill shall drive such vehicle in a careful and prudent manner so as not to endanger the property of another or life or limb of any person. The speed limit on town roads in the Town of Plattekill is 35 miles per hour. No person shall operate, propel or drive a motor vehicle or any motorcycle on any of the town roads in the Town of Plattekill in excess of 35 miles per hour. Additionally, no person shall operate, propel or drive a motor vehicle or any motorcycle on any of the public highways in the Town of Plattekill at a rate of speed in excess of established speed limits. For the purposes of this article, the term "public highway" shall have the meaning ascribed to it by the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York § 134 and shall include private roads open to public motor vehicle traffic.
B. 
The penalty for violation of this section shall be according to the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York § 1180(h)1.
It shall be unlawful for any driver of a motor vehicle to disobey the instructions of any official, traffic sign, signal or traffic control device placed in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, unless otherwise directed by a police officer.
A. 
Any person violating or causing to be violated any of the provisions of this article or amendments thereto shall be deemed guilty of a traffic infraction as defined by the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York and, upon conviction, unless otherwise provided, shall be punished as provided for in the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York § 1800(b).
B. 
Unless otherwise noted within this article, every person convicted of a traffic infraction for a violation of any provision of this article which is not a violation of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $50 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a second conviction within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; upon a third or subsequent conviction, such person shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both fine and imprisonment.
