In order to provide funds to support the maintenance and operation of the Village Beach or beaches and to provide safeguards for public bathing and recreation, including the employment of seasonal personnel, fees may be charged and collected for the registration of vehicles and/or persons using said bathing facilities. Amounts of said fees shall be determined and authorized by resolution of the Board of Trustees.

A. 
Only the following persons shall be permitted to use the Village Beach, the adjoining parking field and other facilities contained within, adjacent to or near said beach:
(1) 
Residents of the Incorporated Village of Port Jefferson.[1]

(2) 
Guests of persons named in Subsection A(l) above.
B. 
Parking.
(1) 
Only automobiles and trucks of the so-called "pickup" type shall be permitted to park at the Village Beach. Other vehicles may be admitted upon prior approval of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council.
(2) 
It shall be unlawful for any person to park, at any time, any vehicle in the parking fields adjoining the Village Beach or elsewhere within the confines of said beach or its access road, unless said motor vehicle has displayed thereon a parking sticker duly issued for said vehicle by the Board of Park Commissioners of the Incorporated Village of Port Jefferson.
No beach parking sticker shall be transferable to any person or vehicle other than to whom or for which it shall have been issued.
In addition to any other fine or penalty prescribed in this chapter, any person shall be subject to temporary revocation of his or her parking sticker and, accordingly, suspension of his or her right to use the beach and its facilities if such person shall:
A. 
Fail or refuse to display his or her parking sticker.
B. 
Fail or refuse to comply with any rule or regulation governing the use of the beach or its facilities.
C. 
Fail or refuse to obey the reasonable directions of a guard, officer or employee charged with the maintenance of good order on or at the beach and its facilities.
D. 
Engage in any noxious or offensive conduct or use any noxious or offensive language.
E. 
Commit any other act which constitutes good cause for curtailment of his or her parking sticker and beach privileges.
No motor vehicle shall be operated at a speed in excess of 10 miles per hour on the access road to, the parking area of or the driveways of the Village Beach. Vehicles shall stop or park only in the areas marked for that purpose and shall be operated according to the road markings or signs placed on or at the Village Beach.
The Village of Port Jefferson shall not be responsible in any manner for any article that may be stolen from bathhouses or vehicles nor for any vehicle that may be stolen from or damaged while at the beach of this Village.

Groups of 15 or more persons must obtain a permit to hold a picnic or party or event at the Village of Port Jefferson Beach. The applicant must be an adult resident (18 years of age or older) of the Village of Port Jefferson and must file an application for use of said Village facility with the Recreation Department, which shall submit the same to the Board of Trustees. If approved by the Board of Trustees, the permit shall issue subject to the conditions specified therein. Any violation of one or more of the conditions shall be cause for immediate revocation of the permit.
The following acts are absolutely prohibited:
A. 
Walking on the slopes of the cliffs adjacent to the Village Beach.
B. 
Defacing, destroying or marring any public property or structures, including shrubbery and planting.
C. 
Littering, damaging, destroying or disfiguring any part of said beach or any public or private property thereon.
D. 
Fishing at or from any designated swimming area during its hours of operation.
E. 
Bringing upon or permitting to be brought upon any portion of the public bathing area any animal, whether leashed or unleashed.
F. 
Operating a vehicle upon any portion of the public bathing area, including the beach.
G. 
Using any container, receptacle or bottle comprised of glass or glassware or bringing, conveying, carrying or utilizing the same at any beach, shore or other part of the waterfront properties of the Village of Port Jefferson.
H. 
Doing anything which shall endanger the life or safety of oneself or any other person.

No fires of any nature shall be permitted at any area other than those areas, if any, designated by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council. No camps of any description are to be maintained upon the beaches or other properties of the Village of Port Jefferson without a written permit approved by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council.

No person shall bring, by water or on trailers, any boat into or onto the beach, bathing or parking areas belonging to the Village of Port Jefferson, except in, at or upon those areas, if any, designated for such use by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council.
No person shall peddle, vend, purvey or sell any food, drink, goods, wares and/or merchandise on or near any Village Beach unless authorized to do so by the Board of Trustees.
