The Police Department of the Township of Springfield
shall be permitted to time the rate of speed of any vehicle by the
use of a mechanical or electrical speed-timing device that shall be
of a type approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Police Department of the Township of Springfield
and the Township of Springfield shall be required to comply with all
of the provisions of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle
Code with respect to the use of such mechanical or electrical speed-timing
devices and with respect to the use of evidence obtained through the
use of such devices against motorists.
A person convicted upon evidence obtained through
the use of such mechanical or electrical speed-timing devices shall
be subject to such fines and penalties as shall be prescribed by the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code, such fine or penalty
as shall be authorized by the Motor Vehicle Code of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania at the time of the violation.
