GENERAL REFERENCES
Subdivision of land — See Ch. 192.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
BUILDING
Includes all houses and dwellings, stores and business places and other buildings which front on any street in the borough.
The Engineer shall plot on the tax maps of the borough all the properties which now or hereafter front on any street, and he or she shall designate and assign a number therefor.
All buildings within the borough shall bear in figures the street number assigned to the building on the tax maps of the borough. Such figure shall be displayed by the owner or occupant on the front of the building or in the front yard in numerals at least three inches in height, at or near the front entrance to the building, and so located as to be visible to persons passing by the building or premises on the abutting street.
On completion of the plotting on the borough tax maps of the numbers assigned to all lots and buildings on any particular street, the Engineer shall file a copy with the Clerk.
Upon any subdivision or resubdivision of land in the borough resulting in a lot or lots other than those delineated on the map, the Engineer shall assign a number to such lot which shall be in proper numerical sequence in relation to the number assigned to the other lots fronting on the same street. He or she shall record the new numbers on the map within 10 days of the filing of the approval given for such subdivision or resubdivision of land.
No major or minor subdivision or resubdivision of land requiring approval by the Planning Board shall be approved by it unless a number is assigned by the Engineer to each lot for the building erected or to be erected on it.
No certificate of occupancy shall be issued by the Construction Code Official or Zoning Officer or anyone in his or her department for the occupancy of any building erected or enlarged unless the provisions of this chapter have been complied with.

This chapter shall be enforced by the Construction Code Official, the Zoning Officer, the Police Department and/or the Fire Department of the Borough of Glen Rock.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable by any combination of the following: a fine not exceeding $1,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
