A. 
Each Township department shall be headed by a Director, who shall have such other titles as provided for by provisions of this Code or state statute. Department Directors shall be appointed by a majority of the Township Committee and, unless otherwise provided by the provisions of this Code or state statute, shall serve at the pleasure of the Township Committee, to perform such duties and receive such compensation as set forth in this Code or state statute. Temporary or interim appointments may be made for periods of 90 days, on terms and conditions agreeable to a majority of the Township Committee.
B. 
Within each Township department there shall be divisions and offices headed by such supervisors as provided for by the provisions of this Code. Division and office supervisors shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of a majority of the Township Committee, except as otherwise provided by this Code or state statute, to perform such duties and receive such compensation as set forth in the Code or state statute. Temporary or interim appointments may be made by the Township Committee.
C. 
Unless provided for otherwise in this Code or state statute, a term appointment shall commence on January 1 in the year of the appointment and terminate December 31 in the last year of the term.
Each department head or supervisor, subject to the direction of the Township Committee and Township Administrator,[1] shall:
A. 
Prescribe the internal organization of the work of his department, division or office.
B. 
Direct and supervise officers and employees of his department, division or office and make, alter and enforce individual work assignments.
C. 
Approve and disapprove payrolls, bills, claims and charges to the department, division or office appropriations.
D. 
Maintain such records of work performance and unit cost thereof as may be approved or required by the Township Committee and Township Administrator.
E. 
Provide such information and reports on the work of the department, division or office as may, from time to time, be required by the Township Committee or Township Administrator.
F. 
Exercise such other or different powers of administration, supervision or direction as the Township Committee or Township Administrator may delegate or direct.
