The Board of Assessors of the Township of Haddon is hereby abolished as of January 1, 1979.
The office of Township Tax Assessor is hereby created as of January 1, 1979, and the person holding such office shall have all the qualifications as required by law, be appointed by resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Haddon and serve at the pleasure of such Commissioners until his or her successor is chosen and qualified.
The Township Tax Assessor shall perform all duties as required by the applicable statutes of the State of New Jersey[1] and regulations of appropriate officials of the State of New Jersey and the County of Camden. The Township Tax Assessor shall also perform such duties as may from time to time be designated by the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Haddon by resolution.

The Board of Commissioners of the Township of Haddon may by resolution appoint, from time to time, Assistant Tax Assessors and clerical personnel to assist the Township Tax Assessor in such manner as the Board of Commissioners may determine.
The Township Tax Assessor, Assistant Tax Assessors and clerical personnel appointed in accordance with the terms of this chapter shall be paid such amount and in such manner as shall be determined by a salary ordinance adopted by the Commissioners of the Township of Haddon in accordance with law.[1]
