The position of Chief Financial Officer is hereby created pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of P.L. 1988, c. 110 (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.10), to carry out the responsibilities set forth under P.L. 1947, c. 151 (N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq.).
The salary for the year 1989 shall be as provided by ordinance for the Chief Financial Officer and, for subsequent years, shall be as provided, from time to time, by ordinance.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be a certified municipal finance officer in accordance with the provisions of state statutes.
The Chief Financial Officer shall not have any interest, directly or indirectly, in any contract, subcontract, job for work, materials for services or the profit thereof to be furnished to or performed for the Borough.
