The position of Municipal Superintendent of Public Works of the Borough of Haledon is hereby created.
Said duties are as outlined in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-154.5 and to perform such other duties as are provided by law and as are assigned from time to time by the Mayor and Council.
The term of office of the Municipal Superintendent of Public Works shall be fixed at a term of one year. Upon serving for five consecutive years, he shall continue to hold the office based upon good behavior and efficiency and shall not be removed therefrom for political and other reasons, except for good cause. The appointment of the Municipal Superintendent of Public Works shall be made by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.
The Municipal Superintendent of Public Works shall hold a principal public works manager certificate issued pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-154.6c et seq.
